IACUC Training
ALL individuals involved in research, teaching, training, and production using live vertebrate animals must undergo training. Appropriate standard training by qualified personnel is mandated by federal regulations.
Step 1: CITI Training and OHS Requirements
Required for ALL individuals listed or to be listed on an Animal Use Protocol (AUP)

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Requirements for all Researchers:
- Submit Risk Assessment Form every 3 years
- Submit Annual Medical Review, in years one and two after the completion of a risk assessment, or if a change in health status occurs.
Occupational Health and Requirements must be completed. Navigate to the OHS webpage to learn more.
Step 2: PI review
Step 1 must be completed before advancing to step 2
PI Actions
- PI reviews all training to ensure completeness
- PI submits amendment to add personnel to IACUC protocol
*Protocol amendment will be returned for modification if step 1 is incomplete
Step 3: Final Trainings
Required for individuals performing research with laboratory animals or at the Field Station
Individual(s) must be listed as personnel on an approved protocol before advancing to Step 3

In-person training is offered at the start of each spring semester. Training covers new information regarding animal research and changes to animal facilities. Training is required to maintain GrizCard access to animal facilities. Require annually |
