What to Expect from Your College Class
Your Syllabus
One of the first things you’ll receive in any college class is a syllabus — this is your roadmap for the entire course. It includes important details like deadlines, grading policies, communication expectations, and when exams or major projects are due. Think of it as a contract between you and your instructor. By enrolling in the class, you're agreeing to follow what’s outlined in the syllabus.
Reading and referring back to your syllabus regularly can help you stay organized, avoid missed deadlines, and know what to expect throughout the semester. If you're ever unsure about something in the class, start by checking the syllabus — chances are, your answer is in there.
