Admission Application Instructions
Applying for admission to the graduate program in the Department of Political Science is a two-step process:
First:
Fill out the There are three steps involved in the application process.

Fill out and submit the Graduate Program portion of the application that comes up when you click the above link. An email will be sent to you with a link to setup your account and finish your application.

Click the link in your email and complete the rest of the application fields and submit.

You will be directed to your application status portal. You will be able to pay your application fee and upload supplemental materials on this page. You will also receive another email with a link to this page so you can log in later and complete these steps and track your application progress.
As part of this process, applicants must do the following:

Self-report all colleges and universities you attended (including grade point average).

List the names and contact information of three (3) people who know your work and have agreed to write a recommendation for you, at least two of whom are Political Science professors.

Upload a 300 word statement describing your reasons for seeking the M.A. degree in Political Science at UM.

Pay the application fee.
- International applicants must report their scores from the GRE exam sections on Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing (the Quantitative Analysis section is not considered) and have the GRE send official scores to the Graduate School.
Second: Request Official Scores and Transcripts:
Request that official transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended (excluding 猎奇重口) be transmitted electronically through the National Student Clearinghouse. For International applicants, also request that your official GRE scores be sent to the UM Graduate School.Application Deadlines
The M.A. program has a rolling admissions policy, so students may start the program in either Fall or Spring semester. Applications will be considered as long as they are complete at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester and if space is available in the program.
