Position Overview
The Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research (ITRR) at the 猎奇重口 seeks a Field Survey Coordinator to conduct nonresident visitor surveys and resident travel and recreation surveys. This part-time, variable-hour position (up to 25 hours per week) requires local travel and involves direct engagement with survey participants to gather valuable tourism and recreation data. Ideal start date will be December 1, 2024.
Location
Candidates should reside in or near Shelby, 猎奇重口, with flexibility to travel to Babb, St. Mary, East Glacier, Browning, Cut Bank, Conrad, Havre, and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with nonresidents and 猎奇重口 residents to discuss travel experiences and record responses using an iPad (provided).
- Collect highway vehicle counts at 猎奇重口 ports of entry.
- Upload collected data after each shift.
- Mail highway counts to ITRR bi-weekly.
- Provide ITRR with a status update on activities twice per week via telephone.
- Submit hours worked and miles traveled via email (Excel experience preferred).
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel within the duty area.
- Internet access (wireless preferred) for data uploads and bi-weekly paperwork submissions.
- Ability to work three days per week (8-10 hours per day) with flexible scheduling.
- Willingness to work outside in varying weather conditions year-round.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $19-21 per hour, depending on experience.
- Mileage Reimbursement: State rate of $0.67/mile.
