Graduate Student Scholarship & Traineeship Opportunities
School of SLHOS Scholarships: Application Deadline is Wednesday, March 18th, 2026, 11:59pm (MST)
*Please note that this is two days earlier than the general Graduate School Scholarship deadline set in Scholarship Universe. Please do not use Scholarship Universe to apply. We will instead be using through Microsoft Forms for all MS SLP Program Scholarship applicants. for all MS SLP Program Scholarship applicants.
There are two department-specific scholarships available for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year:
- The Walter and Elaine Anderson Scholarship Fund (Award: $1,700)
- Criteria: Any incoming first-year graduate students and current graduate students are eligible to apply.
- Meech-Swank Family Scholarship for the School of Speech, Language, Hearing, and Occupational Sciences (Award: $1,400)
- Criteria: Any incoming first-year graduate students and current graduate students are eligible to apply. However, recipients must demonstrate financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office or its equivalent in existence at the time of the award and be a resident of the State of 猎奇重口.

Note to students who are still waiting for notification of acceptance in our UM MS SLP program for 2026-2027: Even if you are not a current UM Student, you are still eligible to apply for our scholarships provided you have submitted an application to our MS SLP program for the Fall 2026 start.
The 猎奇重口 Speech-Language & Hearing Foundation Scholarship
The 猎奇重口 Speech-Language & Hearing Foundation Scholarship honors the dedication and service of speech language pathologists and audiologists in our state by offering financial support to graduate students at the 猎奇重口. There are two $1,000 scholarships awards. This scholarship is available to graduate students majoring in Speech-Language Pathology, who are currently enrolled and/or admitted. Active MSHA members are given preference. Application deadline is April 24, 2026. Visit for more information and downloadable application.
The Office of Public Instruction (OPI) Speech-Language Pathology Master’s Traineeship
This traineeship is for legal 猎奇重口 residents only. Trainees may be eligible for up to $4,500 per fiscal year of the two-year master’s program for allowable expenses. There are several expectations related to this traineeship, including that stipend candidates serve as a speech-language pathologist in any public 猎奇重口 K-12 system or Special Education Cooperative for two years following degree completion. Western Regional Graduate Program
Your CSDCAS application is used automatically towards candidacy for the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) seats, so you do not need to apply separately. You will be notified upon acceptance into the program if you have been selected for a WRGP seat.
