Search Committee Charge
We seek a dynamic academic leader with experience in administration and faculty leadership to guide the FCFC during a pivotal time. The successful candidate will bring a vision for the future of the College, an ability to collaborate across the University and the community, and a commitment to advancing teaching and research in the environment, sustainability, conservation, and earth system sciences at the 猎奇重口.
The Dean must be able to engage with donors, alumni, and other external stakeholders, fostering relationships that will support the College. Experience with current trends in the environment, sustainability, energy, earth systems, natural resources, and conservation, generative AI, and education is essential, as is a deep understanding of College’s role within the University.

FCFC Dean Search Timeline
Phase 1 | Gather Feedback
On April 24, 2025, the Office of the Provost invited all W.A. Franke College of Forestry and Conservation faculty and staff to provide input on the upcoming dean search. Faculty and staff were encouraged to meet with Provost Lawrence on May 2 and/or complete the FY26 Dean Search Input Survey to share perspectives on the qualities, experiences, and priorities desired in the next dean, and to nominate search committee members.
Phase 2 | Review Feedback
Feedback gathered from the input sessions and surveys informed the development of the FCFC Dean Position Advertisement, the Search Committee charge, and the appointment of the FCFC Dean Search Committee members.
Phase 3 | Application and Interviews
The FCFC Dean position was posted on September 16, 2025, and closes on October 20, 2025. The Search Committee reviews applications and interviews candidates. On-campus interviews are planned for the first two weeks of December, with final recommendations to the Provost anticipated by late December. On-campus itineraries will be reviewed by the Search Committee before arrangements are made.
Phase 4 | Offer and Onboard
Following the committee’s recommendations, the Provost will extend an offer to the selected candidate, with an anticipated start date in FY27.
