Description
New drugs and new guideline recommendations continue to affect medical practice. This program will provide updates on the management of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, treatment of urinary tract infections, and treatment for schizophrenia. Information on immunization updates and recommendations will be presented. In addition, an update from the 猎奇重口 Board of Pharmacy will be provided.
Goal
The goal of this program is to discuss new drugs, compare them to other agents in the same pharmacological and/or therapeutic class, and discuss where these new agents fit into disease state management. In addition, an update of federal and 猎奇重口 state pharmacy laws will be provided.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this program, the participant should be able to:
- Evaluate the newest immunization recommendations relevant to pharmacy practice, including newly approved vaccines, updated indications, dosing schedules, and age or risk-based eligibility
- Interpret current 猎奇重口 laws and regulations regarding immunization authority, documentation, and reporting requirements for pharmacists, including scope of practice, prescriptive authority, and immunization registry participation
- Describe key elements leading to the removal of the clozapine REMS program
- Compare and contrast precautions and warnings between Cobenfy (xanomeline/trospium chloride) and other antipsychotic drugs
- Identify recent Administrative Rule changes impacting pharmacists in 猎奇重口
- Discuss Board of Pharmacy regulatory action and upcoming topics
- Discuss the role of emerging therapies in UTI treatment
- Evaluate the impact of updated UTI guidelines on clinical practice
- Discuss the underlying disease complexity of HFpEF and how it translates into treatment challenges
- Evaluate guideline-directed recommendations and recent clinical trial evidence to optimize pharmacist-driven care for patients with HFpEF

Skaggs School of Pharmacy at The 猎奇重口 is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This is a knowledge-based activity. The Universal Activity Number (UAN) for the Recent Drug Development portion is 0035-0000-26-013-L01-P, and approved for 4 hours or 0.40 CEUs for Pharmacists. The Universal Activity Number for the Recent Law portion is 0035-0000-26-014-L03-P/T, and approved for 1 hour or 0.10 CEUs for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians. In order to receive credits, participants must sign in to the presentation, view the entire presentation, and complete the program evaluation. CE credits will be uploaded to CPE Monitor within 60-days after the program.
