This session is designed to support culturally affirming practices across all health disciplines and to foster a deeper understanding of Indigenous approaches to wellness. Dr. Chong's visit highlights UM’s commitment to advancing Indigenous health equity through research, education, and community partnerships.
Chris Chong, Pharm.D., was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy in 2014 from the 猎奇重口 Skaggs School of Pharmacy and completed his post-graduate year pharmacy residency training at Southcentral Foundation. Chris is boardcertified in pharmacotherapy and has served as an integrated clinical pharmacist at the Benteh Nuutah Valley Native Primary Care Center in Wasilla since 2015.
Dr. Chong will share his pharmacy career journey from residency to his current position as a USPHS officer and his experiences serving Alaska Native and American Indian customer-owners within the Alaska Tribal Health System.
