But core disagreements over trade, technology, rare earth minerals, and regional security remain unresolved, and the stakes couldn't be higher. David P. Willard is a Private Wealth Advisor at Goldman Sachs in San Francisco, specializing in strategic wealth planning, asset allocation, and portfolio management for families and private foundations. His career spans investment banking, corporate law, private equity, and entrepreneurship across global markets. David began at Goldman Sachs in London advising on international M&A and capital markets, later practiced law at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York, worked as a principal investor at Pantera Capital and Sage Capital, and founded 52 Capital Partners in Silicon Valley before rejoining Goldman Sachs in 2024.
A member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, the Bretton Woods Committee, and the Advisory Board of the Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center, David also serves on the Advisory Council of the Paul and Marcia Wythes Center on Contemporary China at Princeton University. He is an Adjunct Lecturer in Finance at Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business and a frequent guest lecturer on international business. A Mandarin speaker and former Princeton in Asia Fellow, David holds a B.A. in East Asian Studies from Princeton, a J.D. from NYU School of Law, and a Data Science certificate from Stanford.
