2025 Annual Mansfield Lecture: Making Democracy Work

Robert D. Putnam is the Malkin Research Professor of Public Policy at Harvard and one of the most influential political scientists of our time. Author of Bowling Alone and Making Democracy Work, his research on civic engagement has shaped public policy worldwide. He has advised multiple U.S. presidents, received the National Humanities Medal from President Obama, and his work has been translated into 20 languages. His latest book is The Upswing (2020).
