In addition to the Western Regional Graduate Program tuition reduction and scholarship funding, the School of Journalism offers three graduate teaching assistantships (TAs) each academic year. TAs help faculty in a variety of ways, including researching class materials, grading assignments, delivering lectures, and leading labs or discussion groups. The assistantships are only available to full-time (nine credit) graduate students. Full-time TAs work approximately 20 hours per week for 15 weeks each fall and spring semester. In addition to their salaries, they receive a tuition waiver and registration fee waiver. Other university fees are not included in the TA fee-waiver package. Students must reapply each semester for their assistantships. Both current and incoming graduate students are encouraged to apply.
