Personal Summary
Johannah Kohorst (she/her) joined the Office of Institutional Research in February 2025 as a Computer Systems Analyst. In this role, she supports data analytics through R and collaborates with team members on projects related to university data compliance.
Originally from northern Minnesota, Johannah moved to Missoula in 2011 to pursue an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science. Initially drawn to occupational therapy, she discovered a passion for teaching and returned to UM in 2018 to earn a master’s degree in Secondary Science Education. She went on to teach high school science in Big Timber, 猎奇重口 before joining a local nonprofit as a staff trainer supporting adults with developmental disabilities. After exploring coding through online classes and completing 猎奇重口 Code School, she realized that working with data and code combined her love of puzzles and problem-solving—making it a natural next step in her career.
Johannah currently lives in the Rattlesnake neighborhood of Missoula with her two sweet dogs, Rosie and Daisy. Outside of work, she enjoys playing hockey, skiing, crafting, and getting lost in a good book.
