Key Performance Indicators
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are measurable metrics that help us track progress toward strategic goals such as enrollment, student success, and research impact. They provide clarity on whether initiatives are making a difference.

Total Headcount | Unduplicated count of students enrolled in all degree levels at Missoula College and 猎奇重口. (fall semester census) |
Degrees and Certificates Awarded | Degrees awarded (all levels including certificates). Students who completed an academic program at any level during the summer, fall, and spring semesters. Main Campus, Missoula College, Graduate School, and Law School. (fiscal year) |
Research Expenditures | Annual grant and contract expenditures for the university and affiliated research organizations as reported to the NSF Higher Education Research and Development Survey. (fiscal year) |
Employee Turnover | (# of separations over past year/average # of employees reported last year and this year) x 100. Turnover rates are expressed as a percentage and are based on headcounts. Temporary and non-tenure track* positions are excluded (fiscal year) |
Operating Margin | Operating income divided by operating revenues, where operating income is the net of revenue minus expenses (fiscal year) |
Community Engagement | Measured using the Carnegie Foundation's Elective Classification for Community Engagement (application due 2025, status will be approved through 2031) |
