International Education Week (IEW) - Nov. 17-21, 2025
International Education Week (IEW) features a variety of international events throughout the week, celebrating global learning and international exchange. During this week, students, faculty, and staff come together to participate in events that highlight and promote cross-cultural understanding. Each day offers opportunities to engage with different aspects of global culture, and the week culminates on Friday with our finale celebration, Global Culture Night. Global Culture Night will showcase international cuisine, performances, fashion shows, and more, providing a vibrant experience that celebrates UMs diversity. In addition, the Lodge will be offering international cuisines throughout the week.

Kick things off in the UC Atrium with music, energy, and global connections!
- 10AM–2PM: Explore GEO units, Peace Corps, the International Student Association (ISA) & more at our info tables
- 12PM–12:30PM: Enjoy international tunes and a welcome from UM’s Senior International Officer, Donna Anderson

Roll up your sleeves and your spring rolls! Learn about Vietnamese culture and make your own fresh bites.
🎥 Wednesday, Nov. 19
Documentary Film Screening: Holding on to Arid Land @ Don Anderson Hall 210 (5-7pm)
This film tells the story of Kim, who after moving to northern California for a new start and to farm an acre of land, faces a county government that seems to want to drive him and other Hmong-Americans out. Event features a film screening and Q&A with the filmmakers and UM-based researchers. Refreshments provided, free and open to the public.

The grand finale! Food, music, fashion, dancing, martial arts, cultural tabling...what more do you need!
- 5:30–6:30PM: Enjoy internationally inspired cuisine from UM Catering
- 6:30–7:00PM: Mingle, dine, and explore cultural tables
- 7:00–8:00PM: Try Contra dancing, enjoy a martial arts exhibition, and cheer on musical performances from our UM community of students and scholars
- 8:00–8:30PM: Fashion show featuring global styles
- 8:30–10PM: Dance party & dance-off—bring your best moves!
The Lodge Dining Center Lunch Menu
Now in its second year, The Lodge Dining Center will feature an international lunch menu during IEW with recipes sourced directly from UM international students and scholars (many thanks to those who submitted recipes!). For added fun, students can request songs through the Rockbot system that plays throughout the dining center to share their favorite (culturally inspired) music. Don't miss out!
