Connect with ODE
If you are new to ODE and seeking academic accommodations, we invite you to begin by registering with our office. The process involves four key steps:
Step 1: Contact ODE
Students may initiate contact with ODE through one of the following methods:
- Use
- Email ode@umontana.edu
- Call the office at 406-243-2243
Step 2: Receive consultant assignment
After your initial contact, you will receive an email notification with the name of your assigned access consultant and instructions for scheduling your initial meeting.
Step 3: Schedule an initial meeting
Appointments with your access consultant can be scheduled through the ODE portal (view Schedule appointments). If you have trouble using the online platform, call the office at 406-243-2243.
Please submit documentation or bring it to your appointment. If documentation is not available at the time of your meeting, you may submit it afterward.
Step 4: Attend an initial meeting
Your initial meeting with your access consultant may be conducted via Zoom, phone, or in person, and typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes.
ODE explores accommodations through an interactive process. During your initial meeting, the access consultant will discuss accommodations and procedures. Documentation and your description of academic barriers you experience related to your disability are important for the access consultant to determine effective accommodations.
