2026 Pilot Grant Funding Opportunity
The (CPHR), A Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (CoBRE) expects to fund two or more Pilot Projects at $50,000 in direct costs. The key dates for these one-year Pilot Projects are indicated below. Applications must describe a pilot-type research project that fits well with the scientific theme of the CPHR and will provide preliminary data for an extramural research project grant application. Preference will be given to projects that will make good use of one or more at the 猎奇重口. This funding opportunity is open to all full-time research, tenure-track or tenured faculty at the 猎奇重口, with some exceptions. Given the timing of this award (i.e., one year) preference will be given to projects that can demonstrate ability to complete the scope of work in the given timeframe.

- Letter of Intent due: 5:00 pm MDT on December 15, 2025
- Invitation for full application by: December 19, 2025
- Applications due: 5:00 pm MDT on January 30, 2026
- Anticipated CPHR Selection Date: February 27, 2026
- Anticipated Project Period: March 1, 2026 – February 28, 2027
Letter of Intent
The required letter of Intent is limited to 2 pages or less. Letters of intent should briefly explain the proposed research and how it fits within the CPHR scientific theme. The letter should also briefly describe how the project will utilize one or more of the CPHR Core Facilities.
Letters of intent are due no later than 5:00 pm MDT on December 15, 2025 and can be submitted via the .
LOI Submission process
If you have not yet registered for the CPHR Portal:
- From the home page, select the ‘Register’ Button.
- Click on verify link sent to your email. Note: this can take up to 10 minutes.
- Login using the created credentials.
Once you have logged into the CPHR Portal:
- From the home page, navigate to Projects -> Pilots -> LOIs.
- Select the ‘Create’ link.
- Enter your information.
- Upload your Letter of Intent file.
- Click the ‘Save’ Button.
- If you need to edit your information, click the ‘Edit LOI’ link, update, and save.
- Once everything is uploaded and you are ready to submit, click the ‘Submit’ button.
