Summary

The Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness is one of the most fire-active landscapes in the Lower 48, offering a powerful lens into how fire shapes forests. As part of a 猎奇重口 research team, graduate student Mark Kreider spent two summers studying and photographing this rugged terrain, capturing fire’s dual role as both a destructive and renewing force—vital to forest health in a changing climate.
