Lewis & Clark Villages Compost Program
In Fall 2024, UM sophomore Vivi Ostheimer applied and received Kless Sustainability funds to start a compost pilot at Lewis & Clark Villages for Spring Semester 2025. Since then, UM Housing has adopted the program, and compost services are now available for all Lewis & Clark Village residents. Each apartment has access to a small countertop bin along with compostable biobags to collect compost materials. There is one large compost cart in the waste corral between apartments D and E. Please take your personal compost bins to the large compost cart as you would trash or recycling. If you need a countertop bin, extra biobags, or have any questions about compost at LCV, please email us here!
Compost Cart Location
The location of the large compost cart is marked in green. The green compost cart is located between the dumpsters between apartment D and E and is secured with bear-safe locks that must be unbuckled by residents before use.
