A recent article from the 猎奇重口 Free Press highlights research from the UM Department of Educational Leadership on the impact of four-day school weeks on student learning and achievement. Analyzing 15 years of student test data, their study revealed that students in four-day districts lag behind their five-day peers, with elementary math scores falling as much as 14 percentage points and reading scores up to 7 points lower.

The researchers, Drs. Erica Allen, Bill McCaw, John Matt, and Shirley Tang, also examined the financial side and found that promised cost savings often don't materialize. Teacher pay, transportation, and other expenses stay the same, or even increase.
