UM's new bachelor's in Entertainment, Events and Sports Management addresses a growing job market across 猎奇重口. EESM majors will learn skills such as talent management, event planning and execution, athletic administration, sponsorship and revenue development, and venue and facility operations. It also will train students interested in the fast-growing film and television production industry in 猎奇重口.

Entertainment Management Salaries
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median annual wage for entertainment and recreation managers in May 2024 was $77,180. Employment of entertainment and recreation managers is projected to grow 8 percent from 2024 to 2034, much faster than the average for all occupations, according to the BLS.

Student Record Label Unites Campus
During his four years at UM, Jack Person resurrected the campus recording label, Switchback Records, and the entertainment management club, creating vibrant student-led organizations that nurture the local music scene and train entertainment management professionals.
Experiential Learning in the Entertainment Management Program
The Entertainment Management, Events and Sports Management program built on hands-on experience and networking opportunities. From booking local bands and managing venues to supporting nationally touring acts and staffing three-day festivals, students sharpen their skills by producing and promoting events of all types. The College of Business threads real-world experiences throughout all its programs and partners with industry leaders (including many alumni) to ensure the coursework is relevant and includes emerging trends.

There are numerous scholarships available thanks to the many generous donors to the College of Business. Through their support, the College of Business awarded more than $600,000 in scholarships to students last year. .
Entertainment, Events, and Sports Management degree requirements
Early in their academic journey, students in the EESM major take classes such as Business Models and Operations, and Business Ethics and Social Responsibility. As students reach their junior and senior years, they'll take classes such as Principles of Entertainment and Sport Business, Strategic Management, and select from electives that include Advanced Concepts in Coaching, Principles of Public Relations, Recreation Administration and Leadership, Consumer Behavior and more.
